An incredibly rare and highly collectible c. 1950s Silver King 5-cent coin-operated gumball/confection vending machine, featuring an integrated musical novelty design. This uniquely configured model features a classic cast-aluminum base with a matching metal lid, housing an upper mechanical music box component (manufactured by renowned Swiss maker Reuge).
The machine retains its original, vibrant yellow and red shield decal on the frosted glass globe reading: "STANDARD SK FRESH 5¢ CONFECTIONS". The side coin slot is clearly stamped with its original 5¢ denomination plate. When a nickel is inserted and the lever is pulled, the machine is designed to simultaneously dispense a treat and trigger the music box mechanism on top. The underside is equipped with a functioning barrel lock and four original heavy-duty rubber suction feet to stabilize the unit on store countertops.
This is an exceptional cross-collectible piece appealing directly to vintage coin-op enthusiasts, petroliana/vending collectors, and antique mechanical music box aficionados alike.
