Description

• Maker’s Mark: The impressed "EL&S" stamp on the base refers to an English stoneware manufacturer. Research indicates these are often attributed to the George Skey Co. (Wilnecote Works, Tamworth) or similar British potteries that produced heavy-duty salt-glazed wares for domestic and commercial use.

• Decorative Details: The jar features a distinct beaded (rouletted) rim detail just below the shoulder, which separates the glazed "Bristol" or "Albany" style brown top from the cream-colored stoneware body.

• Condition: The images show a high-gloss glaze on the top and a matte finish on the body. There is visible "kiln debris" and minor firing imperfections (small pits/bumps), which are hallmarks of authentic antique hand-thrown pottery.
