Welcome to Jen's Auction Centre, From Reliable Hands to Remarkable Wins!
Consignment is the standard way to sell individual items or small collections.
- Contact and Appointment: Consignments are any day the business is open. If you have a larger drop-off, please contact Jen's Auction Centre by π(506) 899-7869 or π§ [email protected] to schedule a slot.
- Bring in Items: You'll bring your items in during the scheduled consignment hours.
- Consignment Contract: You will fill out a consignment contract, detailing the items you are selling and the terms.
- ββββββββββββββReserve Price (Optional):
- Items are generally sold to the highest bidder.
- If you want a minimum price, you must set a reserve price in writing on the contract.
- Be aware that a fee is often charged if an item does not meet its reserve price and doesn't sell.
- You must pick up any unsold reserve items before the next auction or they may be considered abandoned.
- Commission: A sales commission of 35% is charged on all lots sold.
- Unsold Items (Non-Reserve): If an item with or without a reserve price does not sell, items need to be picked up within two scheduled days after the auction close date. Items will be deemed abandoned if left passed the allotted time.
- Payment: You will be paid the final sale price minus any commissions and fees. Payment is typically by check, often available a few days after the sale. E-transfer is also available.
2. Estate Sales and Business Liquidations
For larger collections, entire estates, or business clear-outs, the process is more specialized:
- Direct Contact: You should contact the auction centre directly to discuss your needs. They can provide specialized services such as removal and on-site review.
- Contract Negotiation: Estate and business auction services are usually negotiated on an individual contract basis depending on the size and complexity of the estate or liquidation.
- Assessment: They may come to your location to review the items and assess your needs before making a service proposal.
